Partings are a hair piece which is designed for the top / crown / front of the head to either add volume or conceal areas of thinning or hair loss.
They are often referred to as a 'Topper' / 'Toupee' / 'Hairpiece' / 'Periwig' / 'Postiche' / 'Closure' / 'Frontal'
These can create a very natural looking parting and can also be used in creating a fringe / bangs.
There are different sized and material bases available (silk / lace / meche or monofilament) and alternative methods of attachment.

There are various methods to attaching a parting and will depend on each clients individual requirements, natural hair placement / loss, budget, lifestyle. and time available for aftercare & maintenance.

A very simple and fast solution is a ready made Clip On Parting.
These can be customised to place the clips to where the hair density is greater for a more secure hold.
Or a fully bespoke customised Clip on Parting can be created. This involves taking a mould of the head and forming it from meche or lace. This is totally customised for a perfect sized fit.
Clip on partings are great for clients who have very little time to dedicate to the maintenance appointments required for more permanently attached partings.
Simply clip into place & remove when required.

The Remi Cachet Master Parting is made from the same beautiful quality Remi Cachet Russian Mongolian Hair we use for our Hair Extensions. This is the perfect solution is we are using the Master Parting in conjunction with hair extensions to ensure a perfect colour and texture match for a totally natural and seamless blend.
The Master Parting can be fitted as a temporary clip on piece and comes with clips already attached. These can be repositioned to tailor to the clients head. Or they can be removed entirely and fitted for more permanent wear.
For more permanent wear a series of holes are punctured in the PU edge. The natural hair is pulled through the holes and secured in place using a small micro ring.
Several connections are made and customised to the natural hair placement.
This requires realigning every 4-6 weeks.

Here a base is created taking equal sections of the natural hair and securing with a small micro ring.
The Parting is placed over the top and stitched into position using the rings as the position points.
The same secure stitch used in our Hollywood Weave applications is used for ultimate hold & discretion.

The Banbury Postiche Lite Partings are pre made from Indian hair which are perfect for our clients with more movement and natural wave in their hair.
These are attached by pulling the natural hair through several preformed pockets. Each pocket has a delicate adhesive tape attached and the natural hair is sandwiched & secured between the top and bottom tape.

Your natural hair will continue to grow whilst wearing a parting.. The rate of growth will vary client to client.
It is also important to note areas of hair loss hidden by the parting may have increased depending on the underlying cause. This will not be due to the parting or attachments but the progressive condition and its natural course (If applicable)
For other conditions you may visibly notice improvement.
The hair will also continue its natural shedding cycle. The hairs which would usually be found in your hair brush or plughole will remain trapped inside the attachment.
These shed hairs can be recognised as loose unattached hairs with a tiny white 'dot' on the end.
This is NORMAL and no cause for alarm.
With Partings the weight of the hair piece is supported by the top of the head, the connections are to secure it in place.
It is still important the attachments retain the natural hair in the natural hair growth position to prevent damage to the healthy hair.

The build up of natural shed hair is gently teased apart & brushed out.
The natural hair is pulled through the holes and the parting is lifted off.
The natural hair underneath is teased apart and natural shedding brushed away.
The Master parting is brushed, washed and dried ready for refitting.
The natural hair and scalp are cleansed thoroughly and trimmed if required.
The Master Parting can then be refitted using new rings.
SEWN ON
The stitching is carefully cut to release the parting.
The ring is opened using specialist pliers.
The build up of natural shed hair is gently teased apart & brushed out.
The natural hair underneath is teased apart and natural shedding brushed away.
The Parting is brushed, washed and dried ready for refitting.
The natural hair and scalp are cleansed thoroughly and trimmed if required.
The Parting can then be refitted using new rings and thread.
TAPES
The Tapes are gently teased apart around the edge and removal solution applied to release the hair from the tape.
The hair is gently pulled back through the pockets and the Parting is lifted off.
The build up of natural shed hair is gently teased apart & brushed out.
The natural hair underneath is teased apart and natural shedding brushed away.
The Parting is brushed, washed and dried and new tapes attached ready for refitting.
The natural hair and scalp are cleansed thoroughly and trimmed if required.
The Parting can then be refitted using new tapes.
ALL METHODS
(The amount of shed hair will vary person to person, depending on their hair loss condition. It can appear to be a large amount but this is 4-6 weeks worth of hair which would have naturally fallen. If collected the hair from your hair brush over the same period you would be surprised at the amount.)
A scalp dermabrasion treatment is recommended to remove any build up of dead skin cells to keep the hair follicles clear.& ensures the scalp is kept in a healthy condition to promote healthy growth.

Realignment appointments will vary client to client depending on their natural hair density, growth & shedding rate.
These will be discussed at your consultation and may be adjusted following your first refit.
The average time between appointments is 4-6 weeks to ensure the Parting is secured to the head with minimal movement for complete discretion and any tension on the attachment due to movement. Unlike hair extensions the connections are supporting an attachment above the connection, not weight baring from underneath.
Realignment appointments are the perfect opportunity for the natural hair to be coloured or any scalp treatments to be performed before refitting.
Your hair may feel thinner as you will have become accustomed to the extra volume & weight of the parting and your natural hair has been hidden for a period of time so you may have forgotten how it looked prior to fitting.
We monitor the natural hair at all realignments and document any adverse changes or improvements.
